Night riding deserves a quiet night

I continue to discover the pleasures of the off-season riding. They are sometimes more interesting that I thought they would be.

Yesterday I started my usual 14 mi ride, which takes about 50-55 min around 6:30pm. It was quite bright and I didn’t even turn the lights at the beginning.

However during the ride the sun went down and it became completely dark very very fast.

Even with a new 150 lumen light it’s not very nice to ride a technical descent with a 18-wheeler behind you. In fact I probably would like not to do it again.

I still have at least 1 month of training before the last triathlon of the season and I don’t want to limit myself to weekend-only outdoor rides. I’ll try to switch the short rides to morning. At 6:30am it should already be bright.

You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.
